REOPENING CELEBRATION AND ANNIVERSARY DINNER

Hurricane Irene, August 28, left our Zen Center under five feet of water and mud.   Thanks to Mat Doyle of Heron Graphic Arts, we have had temporary quarters a block away.   Thanks to our landlord, David Ford, walls are repaired, new wiring and heating almost completed, four plus months later.  Thanks to the many volunteers who have scrubbed and painted, our Zen Center is open for practice again (see Schedule).

There will be a celebration and thank you POTLUCK DINNER Monday, March 5th, 6:30 pm, a date that also marks the Zen Center's 7th anniversary.  Space is limited.   Please sign up at Contact Us.

The Upper Valley Zen Center (UVZC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to Rinzai Zen, a Buddhist tradition descended from the 9th century Chinese master Rinzai.  We are led by Gendo Allyn Field, lay ordained monk in the community of Zen master Joshu Sasaki. Zen Buddhism is a disciplined look into the nature of our human self, into the nature of suffering and its resolution.

The Zen Center is located at 58 Bridge Street, White River Junction, Vermont. Our building was once a fire house and is recognized by its tall tower where fire hoses once hung to dry. To find us, drive around behind the building, park beside the river and come in the ground floor entrance

Links on the left will help you Find Us, as well as connect to our Schedule, to News new and old and to Donations for information on how you can help support the Zen Center.   You can also find information about Other Zen Centers affiliated with UVZC.

Beginners are welcome at all events.  No experience is necessary and instruction is offered as needed.
