The Upper Valley Zen Center

The Upper Valley Zen Center is a nonprofit organization affiliated with the community of Zen master Joshu Sasaki and follows the form of Rinzai Zen, a Buddhist tradition descended from the firey 9th century Chinese master Rinzai. Zen Buddhism is a disciplined look into the nature of our human self, into the nature of suffering and its resolution.

The Zen Center is located at 58 Bridge Street, White River Junction. Our building was once a fire house and is recognized by its tall tower where fire houses once hung to dry. We are on the ground floor (below street level), with exit to a patio and path along the White River, beside the bridge that crosses it. To find us, drive around behind the building, park beside the river and come in by the ramp entrance.
