JULY THEME: "Sila Paramita" (precepts, "ethics") What does it mean to act ethically? Why does it matter? How do we hold ourselves and others to a moral standard? We will consider these themes in Study group, in Sunday Dharma talks, in Family Zen, in visits to Concord State Prison. Join the conversation.
VOLUNTEER SERVICE: In return for the generous use of their house for our Retreats, we have been asked by Barbara Fildes and her husband Keith, to donate labor splitting wood for charity. The wood is offered to people who run out of Winter fuel and lack means to stay warm. We will be using a gas powered wood splitter. (No axes please, but gloves are good.) Sign up for a work crew Saturday morning, August 11th, from 9 to noon, by replying to this email with "Splitting Wood" in the subject line.
