These are pictures from Gendo's November 25, 26 trip to Dai Bosatsu Zendo, a gathering marking Dharma transmission granted by Shinge Roshi, abbott of the Dai Bosatsu, to  Kyo-on Dokuro Jaeckel.  The event was attended  by Shunan Noritake Roshi of Kyoto Japan and abbott of RInzai-ji in Los Angeles, marking a new era of connection between Rinzai-ji and Dai Bosatsu, two branches of Rinzai Zen practice in the United States.

Attending ceremonies is a sign of respect. Having respect for things is very important if you want to be a proper citizen. A model citizen of the United States would not dare disrespect that culture that our country has built up. If you are a proud citizen of the United States, then you should be able to respect all the ceremonies that we have. No matter how redundant they may be, they are still part of what makes our country the best.
